Wow. What an incredible success journey from Melinda Gray, a school teacher from Seattle. Melinda started following the Money Peach blog a little over a year ago and on January 28th, 2016, she sent me an email asking me for some advice.

A few days later I replied to her email and told her what I would do if I were in her shoes...and SHE ACTUALLY DID IT! A year later she had taken the advice and paid off just over $44k and is now DEBT FREE.

BUT FIRST...before we jump into an incredible success story, let’s answer this simple question: What does it take to win with money?

Ben Arredondo - Firefighter and Founder of The Envision Real Estate Team in Gilbert, Arizona.

For those of you who didn’t know, alongside running the Money Peach Blog, Podcast and Awesome Money Course, I am also a full-time firefighter in Phoenix, Arizona. My guest on the show today is also a full-time firefighter and a very successful real estate agent.

Some of his accolades are:

  • Top 40 under 40 Real Estate Agents 4 Years in a Row
  • $30 Million in Homes Sold in 2016
  • Ranked #31 out of 40,000 agents across Arizona

I bring Ben on the show to tell his story. He comes from extremely humble beginnings and has built up a real estate business that is simply impressive. He has a very unique view on debt, the power of paying cash, on saving for retirement, and learning to live on less than you make.

“Seth” - my very own financial advisor - comes on to say what most advisors won't.

Since most professionals in the financial industry are so highly regulated, “Seth” agreed to come on the show if we kept his identity a secret.

Now that he's anonymous, he is able to drop a ton of value including what you should be asking your advisor, how fees are structured, and some of the biggest mistakes he sees new clients make.

As a BONUS, this episode comes with a PDF Cheat Sheet I asked “Seth” create, which will come in very handy when you're getting ready to interview your next advisor.

At the end of the episode, you'll have a much better understanding of how financial advisors are paid, common fees you can expect, and what you should not be paying for at all.
